Our formats in brief:

COFFEE CLUB

On the last Thursday of every month, we invite media professionals and other interested parties to meet up and network at the Media Innovation Centre Babelsberg (MIZ). The participants are free to present themselves and their companies in a relaxed environment during our round of introductions. This is followed by stimulating discussions that often lead to new business relationships. As the title of the event suggests, the participants also have the chance to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. more

UNIVERSITY MEETS ECONOMY

‘University Meets Economy’ is an initiative that aims to foster direct dialogue between universities and companies from within the industry. We invite them to participate in a round table discussion at least twice a year. During the event, they discuss current and pressing issues, look for solutions and seek inspiration and ideas. The range of topics is almost unlimited. Issues discussed in the past include: war of talents, e-learning, work experience while studying, management trainees, and training and education for the cinema and TV industry. more

FILMUNI.HPI PLUS

The FILMUNI.HPI plus initiative supports innovative practical projects and interdisciplinary dialogue between students and graduates of the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF and the Hasso Plattner Institute (HPI) in Potsdam. The Media Innovation Centre Babelsberg (MIZ) and media.connect brandenburg are partners of the universities. more

HR_NETWORK

HR_netWork is the exchange and training programme for specialists and managers in the field of human resources. HR_netWork offers participants the chance to engage in regular dialogue on an equal footing, take part in workshops and discuss specialist personnel issues such as recruitment, employment law, staff retention and women in technology. HR_netWork is available exclusively to members of media.connect brandenburg (media:net berlinbrandenburg). more

MEET THE INDUSTRY

meet the industry’ is a platform whose aim is to show representatives of different industry segments what form partnerships in areas such as automotive, food, retail, tourism, logistics and healthcare might take. ‘meet the industry’ brings the different sectors together to discuss topics of mutual interest while taking into account different approaches. 'meet the industry' highlights current issues in industry and the digital economy and addresses the challenges and opportunities of different thematic clusters. It also gives you the chance to obtain valuable information for you and your business, make contact with potential business partners, and present your company. more

POLITISCHER MORGEN [Politics of tomorrow]

From time to time, we take our highly successful media:net berlinbrandenburg format to Brandenburg and invite a high-calibre representative of regional politics to discuss the latest location- and industry-specific issues with dedicated entrepreneurs and clarify the need for action. Guests in the past have included Dietmar Woidke (Brandenburg Minister President), Albrecht Gerber (Brandenburg an der Havel Minister for the Economy and Energy), Dietlind Tiemann (Mayor of Brandenburg an der Havel) and Jan Eder and Mario Tobias (Managing Directors of the Berlin and Potsdam Chambers of Commerce and Industry). more

PRODUCER BRUNCH

Each year, media.connect brandenburg invites its members and other interested parties to the Producer Brunch, which is held during the Berlin International Film Festival. On the Monday of the ‘Berlinale’, up to 180 guests are invited by media.connect brandenburg and Boehmert & Boehmert to the office of representatives of the state of Brandenburg in the federal government to discuss a current copyright-related issue in the film and television industry. In addition to political representatives, the panel includes high-calibre representatives from the world of film and television. Topics in recent years have included: ‘Crowdfunding over film funding?’, ‘Google, Watchever or ARD? Who will be the dominate player in Internet TV, and what should rights holders be prepared for in the future?’, ‘Coverage pays’ and ‘Copyright contract law: remuneration versus participation’. Following the panel discussion, the guests have the chance to discuss the topic among themselves over brunch and expand their business networks. The event is organised by media.connect brandenburg, Boehmert & Boehmert and the office of representatives of the state of Brandenburg in the federal government during the Berlinale film festival. more

MEDIA MEETING

Since 2010, media.connect brandenburg and its members have brought the first half of the year to a close in festive style with a summer networking evening. The member companies and friends of the network are welcomed by the Minister for the Economy and Energy and the Mayor of Potsdam together with the partners of the Media Meeting. Over the years, the event has been attended by many important players from the ICT, media and creative industries cluster. Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with interesting discussions and networking opportunities. Don’t forget your business cards. The Media Meeting has been held for many years in collaboration with Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and the ICT, Media and Creative Industries Cluster Management in the Babelsberg Media City. more
